Saying is good speech, glad tiding, and nice words which are resulted from good manner and nature. It is now when we must take all we have learned from this class, all that has been added to our hearts, and all we have discovered from working with each other and try to never forget it in everything we do and every challenge we face. As was mentioned by Diana during the panel, now is the time when we will all begin to branch off into our individual lives. Now, our time of being public leaders together is one stop closer to ending. But today, we reached our destination and rewarded ourselves by rewarding others. We were faced with complications such as disagreement and frustration, we waited relentlessly at many forks in the road, at times felt brainless, lost courage to speak our minds, and sometimes simply wished to give up and fall asleep in a field of poppies. Walking along the winding yellow brick road leading us to the end of this daunting challenge was arduous. Most of us came into this class completely unlearned in the field of philanthropy, we struggled to give it meaning, to find our own philanthropic biography, and several times we even found ourselves stumbling over the tongue-twister of a word that is “philanthropist”. Today, fellow public leaders, we can officially assume the title of “Good Deed Doers,” ourselves, for we have successfully earned trust, gained trust, and pooled our resources through team effort to reward two amazingly passionate and empowering organizations with grants. ![]() The darker the world gets, the brighter a good deed shines. According to this statement, there are none as kind and selfless as philanthropists, for they are the epitome of all who love.
